To ensure greater openness in the reporting of criminal proceedings, the CPS, the police and media representatives developed a joint protocol for working together.

Man jailed for murder in cemetery

A man has been jailed for killing a man with a hammer in a cemetery in August 2021.

Erik Feld, 37, who appeared at the Old Bailey today, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 28 years for murdering Ranjith Kankanamalage at Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park.

Man jailed for murdering his ex-girlfriend

Dennis Akpomedaye, 30, was found guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend in 2022. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 29 years at Kingston Crown Court today.

CPS authorises charges in relation to the stabbing of a woman in Brixton

Lisa Ramsarran, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor in the Crown Prosecution Service London North, said: “The CPS has authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Mohamed Nur with murder. This charge is in relation to a woman who was stabbed while walking alone near Stockwell Park Road in Brixton on Monday 1 May 2023.

A chef and a delivery driver have been convicted of murdering a 71-year-old woman after a plan to plunder her life savings went wrong.

The body of Louise Kam had been concealed in a wheelie bin and was found at an address in Barnet on August 1 2021.
