To ensure greater openness in the reporting of criminal proceedings, the CPS, the police and media representatives developed a joint protocol for working together.

Burnley man sentenced for attempting to murder his son

A 50-year-old man has today been sentenced to a hospital order for attempting to murder his 29-year-old son.

Around 6pm on 28 November 2021 following a 999 call, officers attended Cog Lane, Burnley where they were met by Andrew Heaton who told them that he had stabbed his son.
