To ensure greater openness in the reporting of criminal proceedings, the CPS, the police and media representatives developed a joint protocol for working together.

UPDATE: Blackpool care worker sentenced for sex offences

UPDATE: A 52-year-old man who worked as a care worker at Blackpool Victoria hospital has been sentenced for eight counts of sexual assault. He was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment and issued with a 10-year restraining order. He must sign the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years and must pay a Victim Surcharge.
