An MP has been found guilty of racially abusing a member of the public today (3 November 2023) at Westminster Magistrates’ Court after a one-day trial.

Robert Stewart MP, was convicted of a racially aggravated public order offence after he told a member of the public to go back to his country, demonstrating racial hostility likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to those present at the time.

He was attending an event hosted by the Government of Bahrain when he used racist language towards the victim outside of the venue.

Three Just Stop Oil protestors have been sentenced after invading the Lords Cricket Ground and throwing orange powder across the field of play.

During the first innings of an Ashes test match between England and Australia, Daniel Knorr, 21 and Jacob Bourne 27, hurdled through barriers in the crowd to trespass the cricket field during play.

The pair then revealed their ‘Just Stop Oil’ t-shirts before throwing an orange powder across the cricket ground, delaying play for four minutes whilst staff ensured the grounds and wicket were not damaged.

A man who raped six young women over a three-year period has today been convicted.

Kevarnie Queen, 19, known on social media as the ‘Brixton R Kelly’ met all but one of the victims - all under the age of 18 - through ‘SnapChat’, where he would flatter and groom them before arranging to meet. For three years he was a prolific sexual predator and an offender who had no regard for his victims, some of whom were raped on numerous occasions.

Two retired Met police officers have been jailed for conspiracy to distribute and show child sexual abuse images. 

Jeremy Laxton, 62, and Jack Addis, 63 have been sentenced for distributing or showing indecent images of children to each other between January 2018 and July 2021.

Addis and Laxton worked together during their careers in the Met police and had become friends.
