Leeds man found guilty of killing Terri Jordan and dumping her body
A man has been convicted of manslaughter after the discovery of a woman’s body near an ASDA superstore in Harehills, Leeds on 23 June 2022.
When 32-year-old victim Theresa Jordan, who was known as Terri, was found, forensic experts concluded she had died approximately 12 days earlier.
The victim was with the defendant, Mark Andrew Metcalf, 40, and another female friend, partying at Metcalf’s home on the night of 11-12 June. The two women had an argument with Metcalf and left, but Ms Jordan returned later.
Today at Leeds Crown Court he was convicted of manslaughter and preventing the lawful burial of a body.
Sam Jackson, from the Crown Prosecution Service, said: “Mark Metcalf is a brutal killer. He ended Terri Jordan’s life and disposed of her remains in the most callous way possible.
“He went out of his way to cover his tracks and consistently denied responsibility for these crimes. He has not exhibited a shred of remorse. The jury has now convicted him of manslaughter and preventing the lawful burial of a body. He will face a lengthy prison term. Our thoughts remain with Ms Jordan’s family and friends.”
Forensic analysis revealed traces of Ms Jordan’s blood and hair in the living room. From this investigators concluded that Metcalfe had killed Terri in the early hours of 11-12 June. Investigations showed that he had made attempts to clean up the scene.
In a further act of cruelty towards Ms Jordan, Metcalf stripped her naked before putting her in a wheelie bin where she remained in Metcalfe’s yard for some days.
When neighbours complained of the smell, Metcalf deposited Terri’s body in bushes near the ASDA store, where she was later discovered.
He then tried to cover his tracks by abandoning the wheelie bin elsewhere and disposing of Ms Jordan’s clothing and other incriminating items in other bins.
Metcalfe will be sentenced at a later date.
