A controlling bodybuilder from Derby has been jailed for 24 years for the abuse and rape of a series of ex-partners.

Robert Parkin (35) subjected a succession of partners to sexual and emotional abuse during relationships, forcing them into sexual activity and assaulting them.

A former police employee has been jailed for computer misuse and malicious communication offences, when he tried to frighten someone he knew into unwanted sexual activity.

Mohammed Miah (27) who was a serving Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) at the time, posted an anonymous letter through the victim’s letterbox telling her she must perform sexual acts with a married man, or her children would be taken away from her. The letter also included graphic sexual content and told the victim he had been watching her.

An unemployed man from Bestwood in Nottingham has been jailed for life for raping a schoolgirl close to her home in January 2023.

Shane Nash, 39, followed and attacked the victim after she had accompanied her friend to the bus stop. He approached her from behind and dragged her to nearby undergrowth. He covered her mouth and bound her hands with tape before making several attempts to rape her. He threatened to stab her if she was not quiet.

A Kettering man has been given a life sentence for murdering his wife and children in their home in December 2022.

A care worker from Chesterfield has been sentenced to nine months imprisonment for ill-treating residents in a care home.

Sharlene Bosita was captured on CCTV, in the Chesterfield care home where she worked, in nearly 40 incidents of cruelty and violence towards three residents. Acts included throwing water at victims, making it look like she was about to elbow them, slapping them with gloves and pushing and pulling them about. All three residents were in their 80s and had dementia, which left them confused, frail and vulnerable.

Suzanne Llewellyn, Chief Crown Prosecutor of CPS East Midlands said: “Following the events in Nottingham on Tuesday 13 June 2023, the Crown Prosecution Service has today authorised Nottinghamshire police to charge Valdo Calocane, 31, with three counts of murder and three of attempted murder.

“The CPS made the decision after reviewing a file of evidence relating to the events in the city of Nottingham in the early hours of Tuesday morning, where two students and a school caretaker lost their lives and three others were injured.
