A former manager at Savill’s Estate Agency has pleaded guilty to posting a racist comment on social media following the Euro 2020 final.

Andrew Bone, 41, posted the comment shortly after 11pm on 11 July 2021, using racist language about the players who failed to score after taking penalties in the final at Wembley stadium.

Martin Brogan, Senior Crown Prosecutor for CPS North West said: “Andrew Bone took to social media to post a hateful racist comment, and in doing so, he broke the law.

A company director has been jailed for his key role in a £3 million money laundering operation.

Ranbir Singh, 46, pleaded guilty to two counts of money laundering and has been sentenced to six years imprisonment. Kuldip Badesha, 46, Singh’s wife, pleaded guilty to one count of misconduct in public office and has been sentenced to 14 months imprisonment suspended. Both defendants were dealt with at Southwark Crown Court.

The HMRC (His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs) investigation uncovered that Singh was a company director to 12 firms, all of which are dormant. 

A police officer who assaulted a vulnerable young girl while on duty and superimposed his face onto child abuse images has been jailed for nine years.

Dean Dempster, 35, who was a response officer for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) based in Oldham at the time, sexually touched the child while responding to a disturbance in Oldham on 29 December 2023.
