An art dealer who failed to report a series of high-value sales to a man suspected of financing the proscribed group Hizballah has been jailed. 

Oghenochuko Ojiri, 53, sold artwork worth almost £140,000 to suspected Hizballah financier Nazem Ahmad, who is based in Beirut and was sanctioned by the United States in 2019 and the UK in 2023. 

Samanatha Shallow, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor in the East Midlands, said: “Following a review of the evidence provided by Derbyshire Constabulary, we have authorised criminal charges in relation to the death of Izabela Zablocka

“Ms Zablocka went missing in August 2010, when she was aged 30. Her body was recovered in Derby on 1 June 2025.

“Anna Podedworna, 39, from Derby, has been charged with her murder. She has also been charged with preventing a lawful and decent burial and perverting the course of justice.

Victims of rape and serious sexual assaults who face their cases being dropped by prosecutors will, for the first time, be given the right to have their case reviewed by a different prosecutor before any final decisions are made.

Criminal cases can be stopped at any point if a prosecutor decides there is no longer a realistic prospect of conviction.

The convicted drug trafficker, fraudster and money launderer had claimed that the cryptocurrency was derived from legitimate gold trading and not through drug trafficking as claimed by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

A bogus doctor who was responsible for forging her medical qualifications and fraudulently securing positions as a hospital psychiatrist has been ordered to pay back £406,624 or spend two and half more years in prison.

Zholia Alemi, 63, of Burnley, was found guilty of 13 counts of fraud, two counts of forgery, three counts of deception and two counts of using material to falsify medical qualifications at Manchester Crown Court and sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment on 28 February 2023.
