A woman who gave false information and lied about her qualifications when applying and interviewing for a job as a senior nurse at a Welsh neonatal unit has been found guilty today of fraud. 

Following a trial at Cardiff Crown Court, Tanya Nasir, 45, from Hertfordshire, was found guilty of nine charges, including fraud, using a false instrument with intent, possession of articles for use in fraud, and securing unauthorised access to computer material with intent. 

Today (11 July 2024) at Margate Magistrates’ Court, Gheorghe Nica, 46, was ordered to serve a further eleven and half months imprisonment after failing to payback £65,157.65 which he was ordered to pay in a proceeds of crime confiscation hearing. All of the Confiscation Order monies recovered from Nica, which a Judge has determined is his available assets, will be paid by way of compensation to the families of the 39 victims.

A former limousine driver who systematically groomed and abused young girls in the Rotherham area over a decade, has today been convicted of child sex abuse offences.

The CPS prosecuted David Saynor, as part of Operation Stovewood, a major investigation into non-familial child sexual abuse and exploitation which took place in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, between 1997 and 2013.
