HMCPSI inspection of CPS Cymru-Wales: Area Inspection Programme Phase 3

His Majesty’s CPS Inspectorate has today published its report following the inspection of CPS Cymru-Wales, conducted as part of Phase 3 of the Area Inspection Programme (AIP3).

The report identifies some areas of good practice namely the use of mock trials to increase the capability and experience of magistrates’ court prosecutors and the Area’s induction programme.

The Area has continued to provide a good service and outcomes despite the challenges around senior leadership changes and high numbers of new staff and fully intends to address the suggested areas for further development.

The findings will inform both local and national strategies, ensuring that lessons learned from this report contribute to broader organisational improvement.
