This document sets out the arrangements relating to the 2020 refresh of the CPS Advocate Panel in respect of General Crime and the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences List (‘the 2020 Panel’).
Christopher Cooper, 39, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 16 years at Swansea Crown Court for killing a man with one punch outside a pub in Gorseinon.
The Crown Court deals with the most serious criminal cases. Each case is overseen by a judge who is responsible for setting out the timetable in the case, making a judgement on any legal questions (such as whether certain types of evidence can be used) and sentencing the defendant if they are convicted.
