Pair jailed after using cars to hunt, kill and injure victims
A woman and a man have today been jailed after a motorcyclist was killed and two others critically injured in separate incidents where vehicles were deliberately used as weapons during a long-running feud.
Zoe Treadwell, 36, was convicted of murder after deliberately driving her Range Rover at speeds of up to 75mph into motorcyclist Joey Johnstone on 9 April 2025. Mr Johnstone died at the scene from a traumatic head injury.
Three weeks later, Jonjay Harrison, 25, mounted a pavement in a Mercedes, striking an electric bike and its passenger in broad daylight. Joshua Lovell suffered multiple fractures and Free Jenkins sustained life-changing injuries, including partial amputation of his leg.
Separate investigations were launched but a connection between the two incidents were soon established.
Phone evidence revealed that money was given to Harrison by Treadwell to buy the Mercedes that was used to harm those victims.
On 4 December 2025, following a trial, Treadwell was found guilty of murder, and both Treadwell and Harrison were found guilty of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Today, Treadwell has been jailed to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 35 years and Harrison has been jailed for 32 years.
Kate Lewis, Senior District Crown Prosecutor, of the Crown Prosecution Service, said: “These acts represent an appalling disregard for human life. On two separate occasions, a car was used as a weapon against three men, acts that were not accidents but intentional attempts to kill. Tragically, one of these attacks resulted in the loss of a young life, causing immeasurable pain to loved ones and the wider community.
"Joey Johnstone’s family lost a beloved partner, dad, and friend. Others were left with serious and life-changing injuries. Our thoughts remain with them all.
“We worked closely with Dorset Police to establish a compelling case demonstrating that the victims were deliberately identified, located, pursued, and ultimately harmed by Zoe Treadwell and Jonjay Harrison.
“The Crown Prosecution Service is committed to ensuring that offenders who bring senseless violence to our communities are prosecuted and face the full weight of the law.”
Detective Inspector Mark Jenkins, of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “Firstly, our thoughts remain with Joey Johnstone’s partner, children and the rest of his loved ones. His very sad death was a result of a senseless and targeted attack by Zoe Treadwell, who deliberately struck him with her Range Rover.
“Three weeks later, Jonjay Harrison pursued another two men in his vehicle, causing a collision which left one of the men with serious injuries and the other with devastating, life-altering injuries.
“As a result of the efforts of the investigation team, we were able to demonstrate how Treadwell had intended to kill Mr Johnstone, before plotting with Jonjay Harrison and arranging the second collision.
“I would like to thank everyone in the prosecution team who worked tirelessly to bring this case to court so Treadwell and Harrison could face justice for their despicable actions.”
