My name is Kasey and I’m an Administrative Officer in the People Function directorate at the Crown Prosecution Service.

The role of an Administrative Officer is incredibly varied and really depends on the team you work in. No two teams are the same, whether you’re in another directorate or business area, every role can offer a different experience.

I work in the Recruitment Marketing team, where we deliver internal and external marketing for recruitment campaigns. This includes creating job adverts, producing content for social media, editing videos, and working closely with sponsors and external stakeholders to promote job vacancies. I really enjoy the freedom and creativity of my role.

What I like about working at the Crown Prosecution Service is all the support you get and a good work-life balance. I like the variety too, each day is different. You always feel you can contribute and have a real input into the work you do.

For me, the best part of working in the People Function is the people themselves. It may sound clichéd, but everyone is genuinely welcoming and supportive. You feel comfortable speaking to anyone, and even if you’ve never met someone before, it quickly feels like you have. It’s a very supportive environment where colleagues feel more like friends.

Through this role, I’ve been able to apply what I learned at university directly to my day-to-day work. Coming from a marketing background, I never imagined I’d work at the Crown Prosecution Service, as a lot of people believe it's just for legal roles. However, there's so many different opportunities that you'd never know about, from data, finance and communications - and I'm really grateful to have had the chance to work in my area.

What I would say to someone considering applying for a role at the Crown Prosecution Service is to just apply because there’s no reason not to. You learn so much from it, there's just no downside.
