A man has pleaded guilty today to causing the death of three-year-old (Lulu) Louisa Palmisano by dangerous driving in Manchester city centre, after the van he was driving struck a tram and mounted the pavement.

A Darlington man who caused fatal injuries to his partner’s infant son has been convicted of his murder at Teesside Crown Court today.

At a hearing today (Thursday, 6 March 2025) at Liverpool Crown Court, Joanne Sharkey pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility and concealing the birth of a child.
