Three men guilty of raping woman on Brighton beach
Three men have been found guilty of raping a woman on Brighton beach, including one man who did not participate in the attack, but filmed it.
Ibrahim Alshafe and Abdulla Ahmadi raped the woman in the early hours of 4 October 2025, while Karin Al-Danasurt filmed what was happening and sent it to Ahmadi. All three were resident at a hotel for those seeking or appealing their asylum or immigration status.
The woman became separated from her friends after an evening out and was dragged on to the beach. She was intoxicated, unable to stand and some of the phone footage from the attack showed her unconscious. She was left with bruising to her throat and neck following the attack.
Although there was no DNA links to Al-Danasurt, as he filmed parts of the attack, the prosecution was able to prove that he was fully aware of what was happening to the woman and by filming it, he was complicit in the rape taking place. He had claim ed he was filming to try and help the woman and capture potential evidence.
Holly Morton, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor from the Crown Prosecution Service, said: “This was an utterly appalling and violent attack on a woman completely unable to consent to any sexual activity.
“These men targeted her in a cynical, predatory and callous way, dragging her to a secluded spot, before repeatedly raping her for their own sexual gratification.
“None of us can begin to imagine what the woman went through that night. She described drifting in and out of consciousness and hearing the men laughing.
“Thanks to the bravery of the victim in reporting what happened to her that night, we have been able to bring these dangerous men to justice and ensure that they cannot target women again.”
