Stalker who followed a social media influencer to Bali has been sentenced
A man who stalked a social media influencer, which included following her to Bali and threatening her with kidnap and rape has today been sentenced.
Rob Keating, 40, previously of Havant, flew to Bali with the intent to materialise his persistent and unwanted obsession with social media travel influencer, Alexandra Saper.
For over two years, between June 2022 and October 2024, Keating sent Ms Saper hundreds of emails and 30 videos, some of which were sexual in nature and aggressive.
The content of the emails and videos included threatening to kidnap and rape her, attaching a photo of a body in a suitcase, alongside videos of him threatening to do the same to her.
His unwanted obsession led him to fly to Bali in January 2023, which is where Ms Saper resided. Ms Saper was terrified for her life and left the country.
Keating was then arrested on 6 March 2023 upon his return, at Gatwick airport. In his suitcase was found a black rope and a cut tie.
Whilst under investigation he made further posts about her and posted a screenshot with flights to Bali from London with the caption ‘Round Two’.
Keating was convicted of two counts of stalking following a trial on 14 May 2025 at Portsmouth Crown Court and has today been sentenced to a hospital order and an indefinite restraining order.
Rachel Robertson, of the Crown Prosecution Service, said: “Rob Keating took extreme lengths to try to materialise his delusions of a relationship between himself and Ms Saper.
“The prosecution built a strong case utilising video messages sent by Keating to show a deeply concerning pattern of behaviour, ultimately leading to his conviction.
“This type of offence is unacceptable and is deeply distressing and frightening for victims, forcing them to change their routines. In this case, Ms Saper fled her home in fear of her life.
“It is vital that women and girls feel safe when going about their lives. The Crown Prosecution Service is determined to deliver justice for victims of stalking and harassment."
