Henry Nowak killer’s mother jailed after removing murder weapon
A woman who removed the weapon used by her son to murder Southampton student Henry Nowak has been sentenced.
Today, a Judge at Southampton Crown Court sentenced Kiran Kaur to 3 years imprisonment after she was convicted of assisting an offender by removing the knife used by her son Vickrum Digwa in the attack.
Vickrum Digwa stabbed 18-year-old Henry Nowak to death in Southampton on 3 December 2025. In June 2026, Digwa was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years.
The evidence presented by the Crown Prosecution Service showed that, following the murder, Kaur took possession of the weapon used to kill Henry and assisted in its removal from the scene in an attempt to help her son and hinder the investigation.
Kelly Newman, of the Crown Prosecution Service, said: "Henry Nowak was just 18 years old when he was murdered by Vickrum Digwa and our thoughts remain with Henry's family and loved ones, who have endured unimaginable loss.
“Digwa lied to police about Henry after carrying out the senseless act of violence and in the immediate aftermath, Kiran Kaur chose to help her son by removing the murder weapon in a deliberate attempt to obstruct the investigation and hide crucial evidence.
"Those who seek to help murderers evade justice should be in no doubt that they too will be held accountable for their actions."
