The Crown Prosecution Service has well-established and regularly-tested business continuity plans. This means that we are able to respond to and continue our work in challenging circumstances, including public health outbreaks.

This Memorandum of Understanding between the CPS and ACPO has been drafted in accordance with domestic and European law and acknowledges those professionally involved in the management, operation or use of networks and services to be re-assured of protection where they are acting to combat the creation and distribution of images of child abuse.

This Protocol is between the Local Safeguarding Partnerships (LSP), the Crown Prosecution Service (“CPS”) and the National Police Chiefs’ Council (“NPCC”).

These instructions are incorporated into every prosecution brief. Any Advocate prosecuting on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service will be expected to be familiar with the material in this document and to apply these instructions.
