This is my second annual report as Independent Assessor of Complaints (IAC). My first was published jointly with my predecessor Stephen Shaw, with whom I overlapped as IAC for six months to ensure a smooth handover. I joined Stephen as IAC in November 2018, and I became the sole IAC in May 2019. I am grateful to Stephen for his assistance as I settled into the role.

Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) and Her Majesty's Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate (HMCPSI) have today (23 January 2020) published a joint report into the work of the police and the CPS in relation to Domestic Abuse Evidence Led Prosecutions (DA ELP).
HMCPSI have today (9 January 2020) published a report into the handling of unused material in Crown Court, following on from the 2017 joint inspection report Making it fair: the disclosure of unused material in volume Crown Court cases. This report was undertaken at the request of the CPS to give us an independent assessment of progress we have made since the implementation of the National Disclosure Improvement Plan.
