A man who groomed a 14-year-old girl he met on social media has been jailed today.

Carlo Tritta, 19, was jailed for 28 months at Minshull Street Crown Court after he admitted engaging in sexual communication with a girl he met on social media, intimidating witnesses, possession of indecent images and causing criminal damage when he attended her address in breach of his bail and a court suspended sentence order.

Karina Lyon for the Crown Prosecution Service said: “Carlo Tritta preyed on the young teenager and encouraged her to engage in sexual communication and to share intimate images and videos.

“His actions, for his own sexual gratification, have caused fear and anxiety for the young victim and her family.

“Not only is Tritta a sexual predator, but he has also exhibited deeply troubling behaviour by attending the girl’s address in breach of his bail and a court order, damaging property and trying to interfere with witnesses.

“The victim and her family were left feeling unsafe in their own home.

“I hope today’s outcome sends a clear message that the Crown Prosecution Service is determined to bring those who exploit children to justice.”
