Man jailed for knifepoint rape 40 years on after cold case DNA breakthrough

A man has been jailed for raping a woman at knifepoint over four decades ago, thanks to a breakthrough in forensic science and a complex cold case prosecution. Media protocol

To ensure greater openness in the reporting of criminal proceedings, the CPS, the police and media representatives developed a joint protocol for working together. We are currently in the process of updating the protocol.
