What is a victim liaison officer?

The Victim Transformation Programme is a key priority within the Crown Prosecution Service, focusing on improving the experience of victims through the criminal justice system. As a victim liaison officer, you support our work by delivering high-quality service to victims of crime.  

You do this through effective verbal and written communications. This includes answering queries, providing updates and explaining case decisions over the phone, and drafting letters to victims. You manage sensitive and challenging conversations with colleagues, external stakeholders and with victims, whilst demonstrating empathy, integrity and good listening skills.
