Youth found guilty of murdering 15-year-old Harvey Willgoose in Sheffield School

A youth has today (8 August 2025) been convicted of murdering 15-year-old Harvey Willgoose in the courtyard of a Sheffield school in February 2025

The youth (who cannot be named for legal reasons) was also found guilty carrying a hunting knife into school premises at Sheffield Crown Court.

He took the 13cm serrated edged blade into All Saints High School on 3 February and at 12.15pm stabbed fellow pupil Harvey Willgoose. Within a minute Harvey lost consciousness and died.

Convicted rapist and associate guilty of further attacks against women

Charges brought against two further men following disorder in Epping

The Crown Prosecution Service have authorised charges against two more men in relation to disorder in Epping, Essex.

Rebecca Mundy, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS East of England, said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised Essex Police to charge a further two people following the recent disorder in Epping.

“This brings the total number of individuals charged by the CPS in relation to these matters to eleven.

Man charged with child cruelty offences at Leicestershire summer camp

Janine McKinney, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS East Midlands, said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the prosecution of a 76-year-old man with child cruelty offences following a police investigation into a summer camp held at Stathern Lodge, Leicestershire.

"This decision has been made after reviewing a file of evidence from Leicestershire Police.

“Jonathon Ruben will be charged with three child cruelty offences relating to three boys. He will appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Saturday, 1 August.
