Three men from the UK have been charged with allegedly reporting fabricated serious incidents to prompt an emergency response in the USA and Canada.

The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised Merseyside Police to charge Liam White, 22, Dylan Ash, 18, with three counts of conspiring together and with others to do a series of acts tending or intending to pervert the course of justice.

Keiron Ellison, 18, has been charged with two counts of conspiring together and with others to do a series of acts tending or intending to pervert the course of justice.

A man who controlled women over a four-year period has been convicted of a string of charges, including rape, controlling or coercive behaviour, and actual bodily harm.

Portsmouth Crown Court heard that George De Bathe, 25, would cut the victims off from their family and friends and control them in a variety of different ways, including taking over their phones and social media, dictating what they wore and ate, and who they saw. He would threaten to kill himself and would even control their sleep, demanding that they constantly replied to his messages throughout the night.

The Crown Prosecution Service has successfully prosecuted three men after a BBC Panorama programme revealed bullying and assaults on pupils at a school.

The Life school in New Brighton, Wirral, was a private alternative educational provision for children with special educational needs such as autism and ADHD, with a sports focus.

An undercover reporter from Panorama was employed as a staff member at the school for around seven weeks from March to May 2024.

A 14-year-old girl who stabbed two teachers and a pupil at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman has been sentenced for attempted murder at Swansea Crown Court today.

The teenager, who cannot be named due to her age, had previously admitted the triple stabbing which took place on 24 April 2024, but had denied attempted murder.

The jury heard that she repeatedly stabbed the first teacher saying, “I’m going to [expletive] kill you”. The teacher suffered wounds to both arms.

A former police officer has been sentenced today after he was found guilty of indecently assaulting a teen girl more than 25 years ago. 

Paul Harold, 47, was prosecuted by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) following an investigation by Staffordshire Police. 

In May 1997, Harold arrested the 15-year-old victim for shoplifting in Newcastle-under-Lyme. She was vulnerable and living in care at the time. 

When he took her to the police station he wrote his phone number on the back of her hand.
