Meetings with the Home Office about grooming gangs 2008 to 2013

  1. Please let me know if the organization took part in any meetings that were held between 2008 and 2013, relating grooming gangs.

In the first instance we have interpreted your term “organization” to mean the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and so, I can confirm that the CPS does hold some limited recorded information falling within the scope of your request.

The CPS Policy and Strategy Directorate hold a record of a meeting taking place on 20 September 2012 between the CPS and the Deputy Children’s Commissioner. Records indicate there was a brief discussion on the Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) prosecutions in Rochdale. I can confirm that the Home Office were not present at this meeting.
