- Number of which a clarification was requested by CPS.
- The number of working days it took CPS to request the initial clarification for these requests.
Response
Between1 April 2023 and 31 March 2024 the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) received 892 FOI requests. Clarification was sought from the applicant for 19 of these 892 requests. The number of working days between the date we received the request, and the date clarification was sought from the applicant for these 19 requests are set out in column two in the table below.

Data Caveats
- CPS FOI data are available through internal tracking systems. The CPS Information Access Team (IAT) collects data to assist in the effective management of its functions. The CPS does not collect data that constitutes official statistics as defined in the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007.
- Some or all of the information you requested under the FOI Act has been collated by undertaking a manual search of the CPS’ internal FOI tracking logs and case files. As with any internal recording system, data are subject to possible errors with data entry, processing and the manual searches undertaken.
