A man has today been jailed for a minimum of 26 years following the murder of his 96-year-old grandmother, committed in a calculated attempt to obtain financial benefit.

A man who killed a former colleague after a night out together has been sentenced at Swansea Crown Court.

Craig France, 33, would deliberately pursue women in the Peterborough area late at night before luring them to ‘after-parties’ at his address.

The Joint Interim Interview Protocol (JIIP) was introduced in April 2020 as a temporary measure, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It allows interviews with suspects to be conducted remotely, via video or audio links, where the suspect has been fully informed and advised, and consents.
