This guidance deals with the legal and technical issues that arise when considering offences relating to drink/drug driving. The purpose of the guidance is to assist prosecutors with: selection of appropriate charges, including alternative offences for trial purposes, consideration of relevant statutory defences tools to address common defence challenges.

The CPS is responsible for paying allowances and expenses to witnesses who are called to give evidence in prosecutions conducted by the Service.

Aim The aim of this service level agreement (SLA) is to establish a requirement for the service, receipt and presentation of digital information by external advocates when acting for the CPS in Magistrates’ Courts or the Youth Court. It also provides details of the levels of service which the parties are expected to provide.
