Her Majesty's Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate (HMCPSI) have today issued a baseline report following their Inspection of casework quality and the effectiveness of the same across the CPS Cymru-Wales Area. The findings form a baseline against which the Area will be assessed again in 24 months’ time in a follow-up inspection.

Gary Fothergill, Specialist Prosecutor for CPS North East’s Complex Casework Unit, said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised Northumbria Police to charge Daniel Graham and Adam Carruthers with causing criminal damage after the Sycamore Gap tree was cut down last September.

Jaswant Narwal, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London North, said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Marcus Arduini Monzo with the murder of 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin, who was fatally stabbed in Hainault on Tuesday 30 April.

This guidance identifies the principles relevant to the decision to prosecute, and any prosecution which follows, of individuals who have a mental disorder, as defined by the Mental Health Act 2007, a learning disability, a learning difficulty, Autism Spectrum Disorder, an acquired brain injury, dementia, other mental health, cognitive or neuro-diverse conditions.

This Q3 data release covers the 3-month period 1 October to 31 December 2021, with the previous three quarters provided to illustrate trends.
