Inspiring the next generation: Taking the CPS into schools

Case study from Proceeds of Crime

Manjula Nayee, Specialist Prosecutor
Portia, Specialist Prosecutor

“Alongside our day jobs as prosecutors, we have delivered talks at various schools and sixth forms about what the CPS does and what it’s like to work here.

“We’ve both been at the CPS for 35 years so we’re pleased to bring a wealth of experience to our talks.

“We want to convey to young people how proud we are of working here and what a wonderful organisation the CPS is to work for. We hope to inspire the future generation of CPS colleagues.

“Many of the students we speak to are not aware of the CPS or the role we play in the criminal justice system so being able to help young people understand what we do is really rewarding.

“Students are really interested to hear from us and they ask thoughtful questions. That makes us proud.”
