To ensure greater openness in the reporting of criminal proceedings, the CPS, the police and media representatives developed a joint protocol for working together.

A father from Leicester has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 22 years for the murder of his five-week-old baby son, and a mother jailed for allowing his death.

Life sentence for Leicester murderer

A man from Leicester has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Natasha Morais in her own home in Leicester after being convicted by a jury. 

He also was sentenced for possessing a sawn off shotgun unconnected to the murder, which was recovered at the scene.

Jamie Barrow, 31, has been ordered to serve a minimum term of 44 years at Nottingham Crown Court today (7 July 2023)
