Paedophile jailed for abusing two children
A man who carried out 24 sexual offences against two children has been jailed for 21 years at Newport Crown Court.
Gareth Coleman, 39, committed the offences which included four offences of rape, over a period spanning nearly two decades.
All of the offences were denied by Coleman, but the jury convicted him of all counts after hearing the evidence.
Catrin Attwell of the CPS said: “The victims’ determination to give evidence against their abuser has led to these convictions. The strength they have shown throughout the investigation and court hearing is to be commended.
“We hope that seeing their abuser answer for his crimes will be of some help in their healing process.”
Gareth Coleman was also sentenced to an extended licence period of six years.
