Our people

The Central Fraud Division (CFD) employs around 50 prosecutors, 70 caseworkers and 30 support staff.

Our specialist prosecutors have many years of experience in fraud cases. They have the core skills of all Central Casework Division prosecutors plus the skill sets appropriate to expert fraud prosecutors, which include:

• good knowledge of the Theft and Fraud Acts, relevant customs and tax Acts, and anti-corruption and confiscation legislation
• an ability to master financial and fiscal legislation
• a good knowledge of markets and how they work
• ability to focus on key issues and to prevent a case becoming unwieldy
• strong negotiating and communication skills.
