Winner of Crown Prosecution Service Criminal Law Prize Announced

The winner of the CPS Criminal Law Prize, in association with Bradford Law School, was announced today.

Martin Goldman, Chief Crown Prosecutor, CPS Yorkshire and Humberside, presented law student Dananai Chinyanga with her certificate, before giving a guest lecture at the Law School on the work of the CPS.

Dananai received the highest marks in her year for the criminal law module, and her prize will be a week's work experience at the CPS.

It's anticipated the week will provide the student with an overview of the work of the CPS with observation sessions in the Magistrates' and Crown Courts as well as time spent on a number of different teams in the office.

Martin said:

"Im delighted to present this very well-deserved prize to Dananai.  Starting out in the legal profession is a daunting prospect, and work experience is very important, but increasingly hard to come by.

"Well be delighted to welcome Dananai and Im sure that she will make the very best use of her time with us.    She's set a great example to her fellow students and I hope it will encourage others in the future to study as hard and aim as high - as she has done."
