Victim of sex abuse praises support of CPS

A woman who was subjected to numerous sex attacks by the vicar she turned to for help in grieving for her parents has spoken of the support she received from the CPS.

On hearing John Yallop had pleaded guilty to the six charges of indecent assault put to him, the woman said: "Without my case being seen and passed by the CPS I would never have been able to take John Yallop to court and ultimately make him plead his guilt to the six charges I accused him of.

"This verdict is life changing for me and I now look forward to re-building my life after years of torment. I have succeeded in my goal to protect other children from this man, for the rest of my life.

"When he is sentenced I will be there to take back control of my own life. Thank you once again to anyone in the CPS who worked on any aspect of my case."

John Yallop has since been sentenced to three years imprisonment.
