Rotherham man sentenced to nine years in jail for child sex offences

Corie Adams has pleaded guilty to eleven offences relating to child sexual abuse and has today at Sheffield Crown Court been sentenced to nine years' imprisonment.

Mark Langan, Senior Crown Prosecutor, Complex Casework Unit, CPS Yorkshire and Humberside, said: "It is clear that Corie Adams preyed upon vulnerable young girls for his own sexual satisfaction. He has pleaded guilty to eleven sexual offences involving seven girls who were aged between 12 and 14 at the time of the offending.

"He was well aware how young the girls were, and in some instances lied about his own age in order to incite them into sexual activity, frequently initiating contact through social media.

"The evidence against Adams and the separate accounts given by the seven victims were compelling and he pleaded guilty to all eleven charges. He has now been sentenced to nine years' imprisonment. I hope that the victims will find some comfort in this outcome and will feel able to go on to rebuild their lives."
