Robber who tied up victim in his own home jailed for five years

A man who tied up another man in his own home, robbed him and threatened him with a five inch knife has been jailed for five years at Grimsby Crown Court. The frightening attack left the victim afraid to return home.

Crown Prosecution Service Crown Advocate Jeremy Evans said:

"This was a frightening attack on the victim in his own home during which the victim was physically assaulted, threatened with a knife and bound whilst his possessions were stolen from him. Ibbotson was high on alcohol and remembers little of the incident.

"He admitted his guilt, and he was sentenced to five years in prison a clear warning of the potential consequences of this type of alcohol-fuelled criminality."
