Nathaniel Flynn pleads guilty to murder and attempted murder in Shipley

Nathaniel Flynn pleaded guilty to murder and attempted murder at Bradford Crown Court today.

Julian Briggs, from CPS Yorkshire and Humberside's Complex Casework Unit said:

"This defendant is responsible for two vicious and unprovoked attacks; one on Louisa Denby his 84 year old grandmother with whom he lived, and a subsequent knife attack on a 9 year old boy. Tragically Louisa Denby was killed. The boy suffered life-threatening injuries which required emergency surgery and for which he is still receiving treatment.

"It has not been possible to establish what drove Flynn to commit these awful crimes. He has now admitted his responsibility and pleaded guilty to charges of murder and attempted murder. We hope this brings some measure of comfort to the families of both victims. Our thoughts remain with them, as they have been throughout."

Nathaniel Flynn will be sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on 18 December.
