Man jailed for 15 months following sexual assault on young girl in Scunthorpe

Florin Fechete was sentenced to 15 months' imprisonment at Grimsby Crown Court today. Fechete followed a young girl as she walked her dog before school, and sexually assaulted her.

In addition, Fechete was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the sex offender's register for ten years.

Jeremy Evans, Crown Advocate CPS Yorkshire and Humberside said: "On 26 September, Florin Fechete, a Romanian national, committed a sexual assault on a child as she walked her dog.

"This defendant, who has a previous conviction for murder in his home country, is clearly a serious threat to women and children, and the sentence handed down today underlines the severity of his offending.

"I hope the  sentence Fechete received today is of some comfort to the victim and her family. Our thoughts remain with them."
