Driver sentenced to two years for causing serious injury by dangerous driving

Luke Horsley has today been sentenced to two years in jail for causing serious injury after losing control of his vehicle in whilst negotiating a bend at high speed on Wellholme Rd, Grimsby in July 2016. He was also banned for driving for five years.

Jeremy Evans, from the CPS said: "This defendant was driving dangerously and at high speed, racing with another car. He lost control of his car and ploughed into three young men on the pavement, one of whom was hit head on and suffered serious facial injuries.  His driving fell far below the standard expected of a careful and competent driver.  This case clearly illustrates the consequences of this type of reckless behaviour and it is only by good fortune that the results were not still more catastrophic.  Our thoughts remain with the victims and we wish them well in their recovery."
