National Legal Trainee Scheme
In 2012, the CPS relaunched its Legal Trainee Scheme (LTS), offering pupillages or training contracts for those seeking to complete their legal training and qualify as fully practicing lawyers.
The recruitment process opened on 19 April 2012 to those prospective candidates who had already completed their vocational training or were due to complete it in the 2011/12 academic year, enabling them to commence pupillage or a training contract in October 2012.
More than 1,000 people applied and the overall standard was high. Seventeen legal trainees have now started across the country.
For more details about the application period, please see the CPS Careers page. For an insight into what the CPS LTS can lead to, please read the profile from one of our former Legal Trainees, Senior Crown Prosecutor Salma Yousef.
