Principal Crown Advocates - Organised Crime Division
C£100,000 - Central London
The criminals behind the trafficking of Class A drugs, money laundering, gun trafficking and people trafficking now face a new and very real threat. Through the provision of specialist Principal Crown Advocates dedicated to cases of serious and organised crime, we are helping to smash these criminal gangs and to trace, freeze and seize their assets both here and abroad.
As a Principal Crown Advocate, you will work shoulder to shoulder with the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) and other partners both here and abroad, to construct legally watertight prosecution cases and robust prosecution structures. You will help to shape investigations, from the initial stages through to trial, confiscation and appeal stages, and in the process you will provide knowledgeable leadership to prosecuting teams and lead the prosecution in court.
Your work will include some of the most high-profile and interesting cases in England and Wales, and on the way to securing justice you will you will be helping to establish a world-class prosecuting service - while also enjoying significant levels of professional and personal satisfaction.
Substantial experience of trial preparation and advocacy, gained either as a Barrister or Solicitor with higher courts audience rights, is essential. This should include setting case management and advocacy strategies for complex SOCA-type cases.
On the 29th April 2008 we will be holding an open event in London to give you the opportunity find out more about working as a Principal Crown Advocate for the Organised Crime Division.
