The CPS LGBT Network
Background
The CPS LGBT Network is one of a number of Staff Support Networks officially supported by the Crown Prosecution Service.
The LGBT Network was formed in January 2002 in order to act as a support network for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender staff within the Crown Prosecution Service.
The idea behind the network was to reduce the isolation of LGBT staff within the smaller offices, by putting LGBT staff members in touch with each other, both within the department and across the wider civil service.
The Network works with the CPS on various policies that affect the LGBT community such as the Prosecution Policy on Homophobic Crime and the way the Service has enacted the recently passed Employment Equalities (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003.
