West Midlands Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised Staffordshire Police to charge John Anslow, aged 31, Leigh Astbury, 31 and Andrew Hill, 49, with the murder of Richard Deakins in 2010.

Anamarie Coomansingh, Special Casework Lawyer for the West Midlands CPS Complex Casework Unit, said: "Following Mr Deakins' death, Staffordshire Police conducted a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding this case and a file was forwarded me.

"Having reviewed the full file of evidence I have decided that there is sufficient evidence to prosecute the three men for the murder of Richard Deakins on 5 July 2010.

"The defendants will appear at Cannock Magistrates' court on Thursday 19 January for a first appearance."

Two other men David Harrison and Darryl Dickens appeared at Stafford Crown Court on 9 January 2012 also charged with the murder of Mr Deakins.
