No charges in baby left at mosque case

We can confirm that we have advised on a file in relation to the discovery of a baby outside a mosque on Beresford Street, Shelton, on 6 March 2010 and there will be no further action.

Heather Chamberlin, reviewing lawyer for CPS Staffordshire said: "We received a file in relation to the baby left outside a mosque on Beresford Street, Shelton, and can confirm that there will be no charges brought in relation to this case.

"We have considered all of the possible offences in relation to the discovery of the baby and have concluded that there is insufficient evidence to proceed with any criminal charge."
