Man charged with making and possessing indecent images

In 2010 a warrant was executed at a house in Birmingham where a laptop computer and a memory stick were seized which contained over 3000 indecent images and movies of young children.

Hayley Firman, Head of the West Midlands Crown Prosecution Service, Central and Eastern Public Protection Unit said:

"Following a police investigation into indecent images and movies of young children which were recovered in a house in Birmingham, I have today advised West Midlands Police to charge David MacDonald, aged 34, with five counts of making indecent photographs of a child, 10 counts of possessing indecent photographs and movies of a child, one count of distributing indecent photograph of a child, one count of possessing extreme pornographic images, one count of possessing a controlled class B drug and one count of possessing a controlled class C drug.

"A total of 2814 indecent images and 254 movies were found on the laptop and memory stick.

"The defendant will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' court on 18 January 2012."
