Florin Codreanu Guilty of Murdering Wife

Today at Stafford Crown Court Florin Codreanu, 30, was found guilty of murdering his wife, Marie Codreanu, 27, at their home in Lichfield on 17 January 2010.

Codreanu called the emergency services on the morning of 17 January 2010, when the paramedics arrived Mrs Codreanu was pronounced dead at the scene.  A post-mortem revealed that Mrs Codreanu had been strangled.

Karen Walton, Senior Crown Prosecutor for CPS Staffordshire said: "This is a tragic case in which a young woman lost her life. Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Mrs Codreanu.

"Any sentence passed in these circumstances will never reflect the loss that her family have suffered, and the devastating impact the defendant's actions have inflicted on them."
