Death of John Taylor

01/03/2010

A CPS spokesman said: "The death of John Steven Taylor on 6th February 2010 during the premiership football match between Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers was a tragedy, and a great loss to his family.

"We express our most profound condolences and sympathy to his family.

"We were asked to advise as to whether there was sufficient evidence upon which to commence a prosecution for his death.

"After very careful consideration of all the evidence available we have concluded there is insufficient evidence to advance a prosecution, where there would be a realistic prospect of conviction."

Staffordshire police and the Coroner have been advised of our decision and the family have been informed.
