CPS statement on Paul Luckman

Paul Luckman was sentenced to 10 years eight months imprisonment today at Worcester Crown Court for the Attempt Murder of Shaun Gayton to which he has earlier pleaded guilty to.

Suzanne Llewellyn District Crown Prosecutor, for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in West Mercia, said: "This sentence reflects both the seriousness of this offence and societies concern at knife related crime.

"The CPS has worked closely with West Mercia Police throughout this case, from the giving of initial advice to the Police, through the preparation of the case papers, to the presentation of the case in court. This has enabled the case to be robustly and successfully prosecuted.

"We hope that Mr Gayton will be satisfied, that this case has been brought to justice."
