CPS Charging Statement – Marc Price

West Mercia Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised West Mercia police to charge Marc Price, 23, with causing grievous bodily harm upon Darren Parkinson with intent to do so and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent to Joseph Collins, following an incident at Carnforth Drive, Brickfields which took place on 30th January, 2011, involving a motor vehicle.

Suzanne Llewellyn, District Crown Prosecutor for Hereford and Worcestershire Crown Court Unit in West Mercia, said: "When I looked at the case presented to me by the police, against Marc Price, I was satisfied that there was enough evidence to lay the charges against him.

"When considering whether this case should be prosecuted, I applied the Code for Crown Prosecutors. In this case, I considered there was a reasonable suspicion that the suspect had committed the offences and that it was in the public interest to commence proceedings.

"This is a case, where one of the victims remains critically ill, and in all of our cases we are under a duty to continuously review the evidence, and ensure the charges remain appropriate."

Marc Price will appear before Worcester magistrates' tomorrow, 2nd February 2011, in connection with the charges.
